Customers can operate our 13 to 24 foot boats on their own, given that the customer meets the Knowledge and Experience requirements stated above. While these Rental Boats are designed for experienced boaters to enjoy on their own, Long Island Boat Rentals can arrange for a licensed captain to take the helm for you on a trip using one of our Rental powerboats.
All our rental boats are equipped with user friendly Garmin GPS’s with depth sounders, waterproof navigation charts, life preservers, all safety equipment required by the USCG.
Requirements for Renting a Boat
Similar to any other vehicle, powerboats can be a deadly weapon if operated by an unqualified driver. Boating safety is an issue everywhere due to boat operators lacking proper knowledge or instruction. Our goal at LIBR is to eliminate that issue and make the waters surrounding us safer than ever with our unique training opportunities!
In order to rent a boat, LIBR qualifies every single customer to ensure that there will be no accidents or injuries on our boats. We take this very seriously, and make no exceptions. All Renters must be 18 or older and have a valid drivers license.
